Event Details

For the first Writing the Rails, David will be traveling from Chicago to Memphis and performing in Champaign-Urbana, Charleston and Carbondale along the way. His goal is to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and write new songs for his next album. When he gets to Memphis, he’ll perform along the route of the St. Jude Rock N Roll Marathon and (we hope) record a few songs at Sun Studios.

The next tour is planned for late January/February 2010, and will journey Chicago to New Orleans with even more great musicians.

We’re looking for partners to help us get the word about Writing the Rails and make this event beneficial to the music community at large.

Be a sponsor!  We are really looking to cover costs for the tours.  Any money raised beyond our cost, will be donated to the chosen charity.  For the first tour, all partners are donating their time, so our costs only include train fare, hotels, meals and compensation for David Kav and Theresa Carter for the week.

Natiiv Arts & Media

At Natiiv Arts & Media, we believe that you can do all this social media stuff on your own. Yep, we just said it. We aren’t here to do communications for you, but to teach you how to use social media tools in your marketing mix.

We’ve worked with musicians, writers, accountants, theaters and clergy. While our focus is working with individuals involved in creative pursuits, we work with non-profits, small businesses and curious people around the world to answer questions about Twitter, Facebook, ethics, search skills, blogging, online photo and video, and more.
